Make sure you read the guidelines and abide to them otherwise they will refuse you.

Once you have tested the water with a few directories and been accepted then there is no need to read the rules every time as they are all very much similar.

When you are submitting your site you get to enter the title of your website, if possible use your keywords here.

The rules:-

1. Always check that your website is not already listed. If it is then you are wasting the human editor’s time of that particular directory. This could cause them to remove you.
2. Do not submit mirror sites. Mirror sites are sites that contain the same content as another but under a different URL.
3. Do not submit sites that have similar information as another site you may have submitted.
4. Never submit the same site more than once.
5. Never submit sites with redirects to another site.
6. Never submit sites with illegal content, pornography etc.
7. Never submit sites that under construction.
8. Never submit sites that consist largely of affiliate links and ppc adverts.

There are many other rules when doing website submissions but the above list contain the main ones.

How to submit

You enter a directory and click into the category that you would like to place your link. Once you are at your desired page click on either “ADD URL” or “SUGGEST LINK” etc and fill out the information they require.
