Your Website Footer
Your Website Footer
Your website footer is a great place to insert your address, post code, telephone details etc.
Having this information on the bottom of every single page will help with your local seo, as sometimes it is quite difficult to use location keywords within your content.
If you design all your web page’s correctly you will also have your location in your meta title, meta description, meta keywords and in your website footer on every page.
Look at the bottom of all my page’s, you will see that I have “Web design - Salisbury Wiltshire” on every single web page.
Webmasters do not do this to let people know where they are, I mean truely how often do you look at a website footer. It is purely there to help with search engine optimization. Well it is in my eyes.
Some sites have a contacts page with their details there, that is fine, but it only helps that one single web page.
Using your location keywords in your footer you are helping every single web page rank higher for local searches.
You will also see that I have included the name of this website with a copyright sign above my address, this is adding to a few extra main keywords that my website is based on.
If you have a company called for example “yellow banana catering” it is sometimes difficult to keep using the name of your business within your content, adding keywords down here is a clever way to let the search engines know what your website is all about or where you are.
Don’t over do it though, keyword stuffing in the search engines eyes is breaking the rules and you could get banned.
