Everyone needs to start one way link building.
You don’t need hundreds or thousands of incoming links to rank high in search engines or receive traffic.
If you use the right long tail keywords, in the right places and build web page after web page correctly you can easily have visitors hitting your website with just a few incoming links.
Having said that, if you want to rank high in search engines for more competative keywords you do need to start building incoming links, this process is time consuming.
You could easily have a few web pages in the top 30, some in the top 20 and a few in the top 10 of the search engines with just a few quality incoming links.
I’ve had a web page from this website in the top 10 of Google with only 9 incoming links.
The competition was low for that keyword, but people were searching for it.
To keep doing one way link building is always going to be a bonus and you should be spending some of your time doing this on a regular basis.
Here are some methods to start building one way links.
Directories
The most obvious is submitting your website to directories.
Some do ask for a reciprocal link, some charge you and some are free. I would always try and start with the free ones as paying for a link from a directory in my book is not worth it when starting a website.

Forums
Find forums that are related to your website theme, you should be quite knowledgably about your theme, it should be easy to help people and answer their questions.
You get to leave a link at the end of your answer which will create an incoming link.
Just type in “forum” followed by your theme into a search engine and see what results you get and go from there.
Articles
Write informative keyword rich articles and post them at popular article websites. This creates quality one way links that will also supply direct traffic from the article.

Purchasing Links
You can purchase a link from website owners, this will give you a quality link but try and stay away from this method as it can get expensive.
There are many discussions about purchasing links, search engines do not like it, if you get discovered you could get penalized.
This can be a good method to find related websites where you can add your URL to create incoming links. This method will work for most search engines.
