Link building is time consuming, you need to set up a few systems to save time and get the ball rolling.
Some of the systems below will make link oppertunities come to you, you will not need to go looking for them.
The aim is to build quality links from quality related websites.
Value Exchange
Join straight away, it’s free.
You enter your website details and you get access to hundreds of people that are looking for exchanges.
To save time, wait for other members to contact you, this way you know the exchange is 99% guaranteed.
You can easily get a good 5 to 10 link exchanges every month.
LinkMarket
Same as above, free to join.
Yet again wait for other people to contact you, linkmarket emails you when someone has requested a link, you hit accept or reject.
If you accept they have to build their link and then you build yours.
Another 5 to 10 links a month.
Blogs
See build incoming links from blogs.
Directories
Adding your website to directories creates one way links.
These links produce very small amounts of traffic, but the more links the higher your website rankings will become in search engine result pages.
This attracts more traffic.
Submitting to directories takes time, do 5 a day or 5 whenever you are online.
Some directories will add your website straight away and others can take weeks or months.
Once you are added to a directory it can then take more weeks for the search engines to pick it up. So 5 a day will keep them slowly clocking up as well as you not becoming frustrated with submitting to them.
The Big Two
The big two directories that will do your search engine rankings wonders.
DMOZ is free, but can take time to be added. Make sure your website is up to scratch.
YAHOO Directory is a yearly cost.
Craigslist
Craigslist is a free website where you can advertise.
You create an account, go to a category that suits your website and add your advert. The advert may only last 30 to 45 days where you can then re add it.
The benefit of doing this is that craigslist is a pagerank 8 website and the page your advert goes on will be around page rank 4 or 5. These quality links are worth the work.
Articles
Articles create fantastic one way links as they are keyword rich as you have wrote them.
Forums
Find a few forums that are related to your website and join them. Once a month pop in and answer a few questions and leave your link at the end.
After a year or two you will have added quite a few incoming links and they will always attract a small amount of traffic too.
Just by working on your link building regularly you could approx build over 1000 links a year, and in some online niche markets you only need a hundred.
