Free Link Check
Free Link check
Free Link check options below.
Remember, it can take weeks for the seo spider to find links, so do not expect to see results immediately.
Once a month is plenty of time spent on link checking.
Free Link Check using Marketleap
Great little tool this, visit Marketleap and type your web address into the first box and then the code and hit GO. It brings back results in seconds.
Free Link Check using Google.
Go to Google and then in the search bar type
link: your-domain.com
and this will bring back a list of all the websites that Google has found that link to your website. Google normally only show incoming links with a pagerank value of 4 or above.
Yahoo Explorer
My favourite choice. Visit Yahoo explorer and see inlinks and pages that they have been indexed. Also a good tool to find link partners when eyeing up the competition.
You may need to create an account.
Links and Google’s Page Rank
If you are looking just see how much pagerank your website has, all you need is Google’s page rank tool. See Seo Toolbars
When using Googles toolbar you will see that the little green bar fills up accordingly to the value of the incoming links of the website you are at.
If you hover the cursor over the green bar it will say something like this
"page rank is Google’s measure of the importance of this page (3/10)"
This means the site you are at has a pagerank of 3 out of a possible 10.
This is the total value of the quality of your incoming links, not how many links you have.
N/A means that Google does not know you exist, this happens with new websites or you may have a serious problem.
Don’t get sucked in to incoming links and googles pagerank, at the time of writing this my site has around 500 incoming links and a pagerank of 2/10.
But this site attracts more traffic than some sites with over 1000 incoming links and pagerank of 4/10. This is because I use long tail keywords and aim every single web page I build to rank high, not just my homepage like some people.
Content is King.
